The Mobile Navigator Licenses do not replace or obsolete any existing Control4 product.
 
First Customer Ship:

System Requirements: 
The Mobile Navigator Licenses require system software version 1.7.0 or later.  Homes with earlier version of Control4 software will need to be updated prior to use of this product.

Why do I need a Mobile Navigator License?
 
New Navigator interfaces, such as the iPhone / iPod Touch Navigator, are becoming available from third party vendors. To protect customers from having undesired users access their system, Control4 is introducing the Mobile Navigator License. This License allows dealers to authenticate and identify these third party devices into the system like any standard Control4 device and ensures that only the desired devices have access to the Control4 system.
 
How do customers activate a Mobile Navigator License?
 
Licenses are entered on the myControl4 subscriptions page just like 4Sight subscriptions.   After entering the license on myControl4, prompt the controller to immediately download the license from myControl4 by using the "check-in" feature found under Account Services in Composer's Tool menu or under Remote Access in Navigator's Info menu. 
 
How do dealers purchase/inventory Mobile Navigator Licenses?
 
Mobile Navigator Licenses are treated just like 4Sight Subscription Codes. Dealers order the Mobile Navigator SKU, C4-3PNAV, and the physical envelopes are shipped to the dealer for distribution to customers. 
 
How does the Mobile Navigator License Work?
 
Customers purchase Mobile Navigator Licenses from their dealers. These codes are then activated on the customer's myControl4 account on my.control4.com. Once the code is activated, the dealer can use ComposerPro to add and identify the Navigator device in the project.  Without the Navigator License, devices will not identify in the project and cannot be used.
 
How do dealers activate devices for use in their showrooms? 
 
Similar to 4Sight subscriptions, dealer accounts are provided licenses for 10 by the system. Dealers need to verify that their showroom system is registered to their dealer account.  The account name will be in the form abc123 for dealer accounts. Once this is done, up to 10 devices can be added to the system and identified for demo purposes.
 
Where do customers get the third party navigator devices and software?
 
Third party navigator devices are available from their respective vendors. In the case of the iPod Touch / iPhone navigator, the devices can be purchased from any authorized Apple retailer.  The Control4 My Home application that runs on the iPhone or iPod Touch can be downloaded from the Apple App Store via iTunes at no charge.
